Specialized guidance in preparation.

First distinguish geographic position from a layout that uses area or containment to show relationships. A map, a treemap, and a circle-packing diagram do not share one coordinate or interaction model.

The reviewed Apple chart guidance supports clear context, consistent encodings, and accessible access to data. It does not establish the specialized design and interaction rules needed for this topic. No corresponding chart API was found in the installed Liquidify exports or catalog.

Research still needed

• Whether the task depends on geography, spatial coordinates, area, or containment, and which representation supports it.
• For geographic data, the projection, geographic boundaries, resolution, and normalization needed to avoid misleading comparisons.
• For area or containment diagrams, the sizing and layout rules; for every representation, readable labels, navigation, and equivalent nonvisual information.

Available guidance

Use the Data visualization overview to define the reader's question and distinguish general guidance from implementation support. Review Axes and labels and Color palettes where those principles apply.

A specialized renderer and its accessibility behavior still need evaluation. This page does not recommend a package, define a Liquidify API, or mark the topic complete. A production diagram brief will require the representation and its rules to be established first.
